Ladies, Start Your Engines was featured in Women Tech Educators Newsletter (August 22, 2006). Below is an excerpt:

Ladies, Start Your Engines is an automotive repair class just for women that you can offer at your own facility. Taught by instructor Lori Johnson the main goal of this hands-on class is to empower the participants by giving each woman the confidence to perform her own light automotive maintenance.

Early on the class was offered for both men and women, but Lori realized that women seemed hesitant to ask questions in front of the men, so the class became “women only”.
